How to get to the Sussex campus

The University is at Falmer, about 4 miles (6 km) from the centre of Brighton and Hove and 4 miles (6 km) from the county town of Lewes (see maps). The following instructions should help you with your travel arrangements.


To get from Brighton to the University by train

This is the easiest way to get to campus. Take a train direct from Brighton station to Falmer station (cost for a single is approximately £3.00 and £4.80 for a return). Falmer station is the third stop on leaving Brighton, after London Road and Moulsecoomb.
 
 
Getting to Falmer from BrightonThe University is easily accessible and is well served with buses from Central Brighton, and trains and taxis from Brighton train station. The No. 25 bus operates frequently from many parts of Brighton.
Trains run from Brighton to Falmer every 15-20 minutes.
 

To get to the University by bus

The No. 25 bus runs every 10 minutes from Brighton to the University of Sussex (slowing to every 20 minutes in the evening, and every 30 minutes at night) and will cost £1.80 for a single (one-way) ticket. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. If you arrive by coach the nearest stop for the No. 25 is at the Old Steine which is situated behind the coach station, and is a short walk away.

Taxis in Brighton and Hove

There are many taxi companies in and around the city. You should make sure you pre-book a taxi or get one from the many licensed taxi ranks around the city.
